College Football: Standings

Last week, in college football, there were many exciting and important games that will affect the playoff picture. The main game of the day and the location of College Gameday was #12 BYU (8-0) at #8 Texas Tech (8-1). Texas Tech won with comfort over BYU with a surprisingly large 22 point win (29-7). Other close games included #2 Indiana beating Penn State 27-24, with a last second catch in the back of the end zone, that after review was called in bounds and #7 Oregon beating #20 Iowa 18-16 on the road. #5 Georgia, who are my favorite team won big over Mississippi State to go 8-1.
One of the exciting games to keep an eye on next weekend are #10 Texas at #5 Georgia. This game is important to both teams, because Texas has almost no chance of making the playoffs with a loss, because that will be their third loss of the season, and Georgia needs to win to show they can beat good SEC teams, after their loss against Alabama earlier in the season. I think Georgia will win this game 24-21. Other good games to watch include #11 Oklahoma at #4 Alabama (predicting the score will be 35-20 Alabama), Florida at #6 Ole Miss (38-24 Ole Miss), and Iowa at #17 USC (20-13 USC). It will also be interesting to watch how #8 Texas Tech and #12 BYU respond against decent in-confrence teams, after their big game last Saturday.
As we are getting towards the end of the season, we start to look at the playoff picture. If the playoffs started today, there would be a lot of SEC and Big 10 teams in the tournament. Here is my prediction for what the playoffs will look like when the regular season is over:
1 Ohio State
2 Alabama
3 Georgia
4 Texas A&M
5 Indiana
6 Texas Tech
7 Ole Miss
8 Oregon
9 Notre Dame
10 BYU
11 Georgia Tech
12 James Madison
