Love Your Body Week

What was going on the week of February 9—14? It was Love Your Body Week - a week dedicated to celebrating and appreciating our amazing bodies and all they do for us!
The Middle School Wellness Council planned lots of fun surprises for LYBW. From sticky notes with encouraging words on them on the bathroom mirrors to chalk at recess, we did so many things to brighten up the dark February days.
One of my classmates said that they loved the fresh smoothies that the cafeteria made for the whole middle school that week! Another classmate said they loved learning that your body needs snacks, naps, and dance parties! They specifically said, “Basically it's like your body is royalty and you’re just a loyal subject.” I personally really loved getting to wear our pajamas to school on that week’s Monday. I mean, PJ day, and all of these other surprises? I don’t know if we could have made LYBW any better!
Oh, did I forget to mention the LYBW game we played? The Wellness Council made a Kahoot for the advisory groups to play. The group that won (Congrats, Ms Peterson’s group) had their own yogurt parfait bar during advisory the next week!
All in all, the Wellness Council worked hard to celebrate our bodies during the dark February days. We all had a great time during Love Your Body Week, and I am so glad I got to share it with you!!
